STEVEN PETERSON
Steven is responsible for overseeing the daily culinary operations of MGM Grand ensuring quality service levels in food production, preparation, and compliance with health code standards. His areas of responsibility include all MGM Grand restaurants, bakery, banquets, in-room dining, and all commissary/kitchen areas of the hotel.
Steven joined us from Westin Hotels where he most recently severed as Corporate Chef. During his tenure with the company, Steven was directly responsible for all culinary operations as it related to new hotel restaurant and kitchen openings. He also helped implement several culinary training programs and created various food & beverage/culinary initiatives throughout the Westin brand.
Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, Steven has an extensive culinary arts background dating back to 1981 and earned his culinary arts degree from the 916 Vo-Tech Institute in Minnesota. He has been the recipient of numerous awards including being selected by the National Chefs of America as “One of the Top-4 Chefs” in the greater Chicago area in 1990; the People’s Choice Award at the 1995 Texas Wine & Food Festival “Best of the Region” reception; and the recipient of the 1995 Beaver Creek Food & Wine Festival, Best in Show.
